Artist’s Book Triennial in Leipzig Book Fair 2015

The “7th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2015” was exhibited in the Leipzig Book Fair, in Germany. The 7th Artist’s Book Triennial was composed from 114 invited artists and artists, selected by the jury. In Leipzig Book Fair we showed 51 artists from the Triennial. I am sorry for an artists who were not selected for the Exhibition in Leipzig – it was no possible to show all artists from the 7th Artist’s Book Triennial. But we’ll show them in Italy, Vilnius or USA.

Leipzig Book Fair is the most famous book fair in Europe. Leipzig can look back on a more than 500 year old tradition as a production and trading place for books, as well as a place of traditional book culture and literature promoting. The Leipzig Book Fair became the largest book fair in Germany in 1632.

To the Leipzig Book Fair I went with my daughter Agota by personal car. It was about 1200 km from Vilnius, through Poland till Leipzig.

We arrived in Leipzig Book Fair, exhibited our artist’s book Triennial in the gallery “IAKH: Globus Galerie” and went to take a rest in the wonderful bookstore-hotel in a small village 40 km from Leipzig. So, each day we were driving to Leipzig and back by small and beautiful country side road.

In the next day, 12th of March, was opening of the Leipzig Book Fair and the opening of the our Gallery with the 7th Artist’s Book Triennial. The Gallery rent space in the best exhibition space in Leipzig Book Fair – in the Hall No. 3, showing art galleries with an artist’s books and prints, an artists, art universities, antique books, and most beautiful books of the world. Here are always a lot of intelligent visitors, students, professors and art dealers. From 2007 four Artist’s Book Triennials has been exhibited in Leipzig Book Fair, so here we have many friends between artists and galleries. During four days in Book Fair many people visited our Artist’s Book Triennial.

On Sunday evening we have taken the Exhibition and went with our students, studying in Leipzig, for a dinner (it was kebabs) before a night trip to the hotel in Poland and in the next day to Lithuania. It was a beautiful dark night with the stars.
