Leipzig Book Fair – the art space for artist’s books, limited & fine art editions, prints, private press, exhibitions, universities, competition for the best book design, antique books, readings and etc.
The Leipzig Book Fair (Leipziger Buchmesse) is the second largest book fair in Germany after the Frankfurt Book Fair. The Leipzig Book Fair became the largest book fair in Germany in 1632.
We again plane our journey to Leipzig Book Fair in March 2017. The first time we have been in Leipzig Book Fair was in 1997. We want to learn more about the new tendencies in artist’s books and book design. We want to meet artists, artist’s book creators, to visit the artists from limited & fine art editions. In 2018 we organize the “8th Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018” so we want to invite artists to participate in it. Also we want to find in the Leipzig Book Fair new names, new artist’s book creators for the 8th Artist’s Book Triennial. In 2018 we plane to show the “8th Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018” in Leipzig Book Fair for the visitors.
With me will go few students from Graphic Department, from Vilnius Academy of Arts. It will be an educational journey for them – the possibility to meet artists and students from other art academies and to see what they create and why. To visit publishing houses and to see the modern book design. It is always nice to see what is going in the competition “Best book design from all over the world”. And also it is nice to walk in Leipzig, to visit Museums and galleries.
