Artist’s Book Workshop for the Students

Lithuanian mythological stories: Interpretation on the theme “Memento Mori

Conductors of the workshop: teacher, artist’s book creator Roberta Vasiliuniene & art critic Jurgita Sprindziuniene.

Organiser of the artist’s book workshop: Circle “Bokartas” in collaboration with The Martynas Mazvydas National Library of Lithuania.

This is the second stage of the educational project for students from the schools – creation of an artist’s book from printed linocut, based on the collage principle.

Lecture of art critic Jurgita Sprindziuniene in the 8th Artist’s Book Triennial, in Vilnius

In the beginning Jurgita Sprindziuniene gave a lecture for the students in the exhibition of the “8th International Artist’s Book Triennial Vilnius 2018” about what is an “artist’s book”, styles and method of creation of it.

During the artist’s book workshop students, using collage technique had to create double page for interpretation the text from the Lithuanian mythological stories.

In the project participated 11 students from the Vilnius Justinas Vienozinskis Art School Naujoji Vilnia branch & Tuskulenai Gymnasium, & Uzupis Gymnasium, Vilnius.

The last stage of the project will be in the Vilnius Justinas Vienozinskis Art School Naujoji Vilnia branch where students will has to connect all double pages with wooden cover in one artist’s book in accordion style.
