We not only make the Artist’s Book Exhibitions. We make History of Artist’s Book!
25 years ago, on 17th of August 1993 we have opened the 1st International Artist’s Book Exhibitions in Vilnius, in Lithuania.
The 1st International Artist‘s Book Exhibition on theme “Book” was opened in the Contemporary Art Centre in Vilnius. 25 famous artists from Lithuania, Denmark, France, Latvia and Russia participated in it.
Since 1993 we have made more than 40 International Artist’s Book Exhibitions not only in Lithuania, but also in Leipzig, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Rheine (Germany), Lille (France), Silkeborg (Denmark), Venice, Vercelli, Urbino (Italy), Seoul (South Korea), Halmstad (Sweden) and Salzburg (Austria). Thousands of artist’s books passed through our hands, through our competition.
Many artist’s book creators from Australia, Japan, South Korea, U.S.A., Iceland and all Europe attended on the openings of the Artist’s Book Exhibitions in Vilnius, in Lithuania, participated in the Artist’s Book Conferences, gave the lectures and have made Artist’s Book Workshops for the students in Vilnius Academy of Arts.
During 25 years of our activity, we became one of the most important Centre of the Artist’s Books in Europe and globally. Now it is not possible to separate “Artist’s Book” and Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Vilnius became the “meeting point” of artist’s book creators.
We are very thankful to all Artists who trust in us and who participate in our Artist’s Book Projects. Dear Artists, thank You for being together. Together we create the History of Artist’s Book! Together we are the part of global Artist’s Book movement!
