“Our exhibition JAÐARLÖND | BORDERLANDS – a part of Reykjavík Arts Festival 2020, –will be open from Friday 21st of August at the National and University Library of Iceland – Þjóðarbókhlaðan, Arngrímsgata 3, in Reykjavík. The exhibition will stand until September 20, 2020. We will post more information about possible events later.

The title of the exhibition, JAÐARLÖND | BORDERLANDS, refers to the peripheries of the world, the borders and boundaries that are, after all, subject to change and movable and highly fickle in the history of the world. In the works, the artists explore various perspectives on land and in nature, boundaries and borders, text and languages, communication and cultures.

The exhibition is partly made up of recent works of ARKIR that have only been shown in the United States on the touring exhibition BORDERLAND, and partly from new and older works by ARKIR and their guests from Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, Poland, UK and USA.

We kindly ask all our guests to keep in mind safety precautions and social distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.”
