We want to provoke artists to think and to create an artist’s books on this strange theme of the 7th Triennial – “Error”. Errors {mistakes} plays important role not only in our life, but also in creative process. Many scientific discoveries have been made by mistake, by error. The same are in art. We are looking for artist’s books made with errors, artist’s books with typographical, printing or binding errors. Artist’s books created about “errors” in our life and art, errors in science and engineering, errors in languages or errors on the road, and etc.

  1. At least an error would make you wonder and seek.

  2. Dear Joseph, error gives life taste. Errors in art makes Art.

  3. There is this force in a development that we call ‘trial and error’; childish simple (and the only way to practically learn), whilst on the other hand an idea of utter-difficulty.
Happily inconclusive as such. Thus we do stand a chance, which makes it a humane task to have a hand in the development.
The explicitly mentioned element of ‘error’ – for me – makes the difficult part.
    With ‘trial’ I am OK.
Away from the context of the UN (I mean the complex of do’s and don’t’s that we agreed on related to a responsible society where mankind finds a minimum of security), I have a fair lack of understanding for Moral, and I should add that I am all for the use of the word and idea ‘morals’ to show how probable diversity is in that field.
I seem to see the implication of an existing idea of value where ‘error’ comes in.
However, that should be nicely out of the question when ‘trial’ should get at least something of an chance.
Now that ‘error’ – not just the word, but the bloody thing in capitals and crying out loud: ‘ERROR’ – is to be capitalised on, I being an artist is starting to be confused:
The context is ‘an artist’s-book’, which historically seems to give you a bit of creative freedom (at least it is away from economical standards and influences),
    but then:
There seems to be something of a standard that this artist’s-book now asked for should refer to as an entity that is away from conclusiveness, and in the very state of being it should call for a right of showing the opposing view towards an unknown, probably only suspected, rule of righteousness.
Well being a bit of a child, such word ‘righteousness’ is enough to get me started with a wild adventure of trials – surely getting myself into trouble with anyone that likes to call out ‘ERROR’.
This new theme seems to be open to a world of artistic and philosophical quests in which we cannot fail unless we show to be bound to the rights and wrongs of life and artistry and kill the idea of a quest with every step in the creative process – may judgement be on that!
